Thanks! They get shipped next wednesday.. Got everything else inline to replace once I pull everything out.. Gotta replace bed caps due to holes from the chrome bars and the toolbox.. I can't wait!
Good deal Kris, now I've got that warm fuzzy feeling again.
I tried to post the picture on here I sent you (of course, to no avail). I was gonna take a 'stupid looking' poll. Oh well.
.
Let's have this "poll"
Kris, you can post this 'pic' Jet sent you and let the general public around here speak their mind about them.
I don't really mean 'stupid' but they're a little much.
This is what I plan to have them look like.. Mucho thanks to Kris for his truck.. I need a shot at that angle so I could manipulate it and see what it'd look like with stacks cut at Roof height.. Hope you don't mind Kris.. Again this is Kris truck :-P Not mine LOL
Hopefully it won't be too bad with my SWB and Toolbox.. (praying)
You know Storm I think the pipe in the bed even for the 6" stack is still 5" then the stacks go from 5" to 6" I am not positive on that as I have the 5" but Kris would know for sure if that is the case you would have to cut the top off and remiter the top to get this look or cut out a section and weld it back to the bottom either way. Because the 36" stack length is going to stick over the cab. I do like that look though and that is one of the reasons I went with the straight cuts to was to cut them down to the cab height but after installing them I liked the look of just a little sticking up over the cab not to much just a little.

on the Grand Rock kit, the T-Pipe is 5" up to 6" mount for the Stacks.. The Stacks slide into the T-Pipe so it can be chopped at the bottom to lower the stack.
Ok other way, Stack goes to 5".. Hmm.. Wonder if I got enough to cut.. Grr this ain't cool.. I'll find out when they show up what I can do
That's cool I was not sure I have Grand Rock as well but the 5" stacks I know a lot of the other exhaust stack kits go up to the size in the stack but the bed pipe stays the same so the stack tapers down at the bottom of the stack itself.
Edit: I think you just figured out what I was talking about.

Yeah I'm thinking the 6" tapers to 5".. Which could pose a massive problem for me :-\
big truck parts store..2 -- 6" into 5" adapter's and 2 band clamps..how much needs to come off?? there must be at least 6 inches of the 5" on the bottom???
If you know someone with a metal chop saw(table type mount) you can measure the length you want and set the saw at the proper angle for the miter and cut them down the saw will cut them clean I would wrap some tape around the area to be cut to protect the chrome. The chop saw should cut them fairly quick as well and you get them cut down and mitered at the same time with it.

Prob 2" or so needs to come off for the highest point to be flush.. I won't know until they get here to be exact..
that should still be enough left over to hold them in place..they get bolted to the bed to dont they?? eather way i think that would still work...you guy's and them stacks.....i can get a couple of them stacks cheap..there used.. but look good...but im not sure im sold on them yet

Yeah there's a clamp around stacks that bolts to top of bed to hold them.. I'll weld the T pipe to the bed by the hole where I cut so it doesn't bounce around.. I think I can pull it off.. If not I'll just recut them LOL
You dont have to get all worried. If you want it lower, then instead of cutting a 4" hole in the bed, and setting the small 4" inlet of the splitter through and then resting the lip on the bed where it goes to 5", cut a larger place out of it, and then use the u-bolt clamp that attaches the left side to mount that to the bed floor. It will lower it 2-3" and it looks pretty snazzy. Jeremy has a picture of how he did his. He cut half of his bed floor out though.
