67' 352 harmonic balancer

67' 352 harmonic balancer
I have a question,
I recently had a 352 out of a 67 f250 dropped into my 72 f100 and the guy who did the work used the harmonic balancer off of my 72 360. I was told that it was important to keep the original harmonic blancer on the 352 is this true? and what are the problems that could occur?
