the only way you can get the tractor on steroids sound is if you run a straight pipe.
efi isnt a setback.. if you run a straight with efi it still sounds damn good.
if your really serious a cam will for sure promote the tractor sound. and it will
give your 300 tractor like pulling ability too

i used to have a 85 f 150 carbed with a 1 3/4 " strait pip off the down pipe hten out at 45 in front of the right tire...sounded like an old tractor! but too much back pressure

I pulled my cat and replaced it with a straight pipe. (my truck doesnt need a cat, as it isnt tested for smog control). I get a nice throaty growl, not as deep as an 8, but better than stock.

Are you sure 2 cats? you should have a resonator, a cat, and then your muffler. I worked in a muffler shop one summer (evil job), never ever saw a vehicle with 2 cats...

mine passed emmisions with one cat, first one, and the cam in my sig. we did it as a simulated emmisions test when i was in school.

Freind had a 91 efi with duals. Sounded pretty good IMHO. But I have stayed with the stocker exhaust on the 94 just the same. ;-)

Anybody know if a Flowmaster 44 would sound good on a 300? Or which muffler would be loud but sound good???

loud and good dont go together on a 300.

IMO, any baffled muffler like a like a flowmaster will always sound like crap on a 300. it has a tinny sound when being wound out.

The only way your going to have 2 cats, is IF your running dual exhaust. Otherwise, you'll have 1 resonator, 1 cat, 1 muffler.

Wow! it passed with that cam? how well did it do? did you have to advance or retard the timing or anything like that?
