My dads f150 shuts off intermitiatly while driving it. he has to pull over and wait about 5 minutes until it restarts again. We have tried replacing the fuel filter, still shuts off! Some one pointed out the coil!? But after reading some of the previous posting, Im thinking that it might be the switch. It might be bad, shorting out and shutting down the truck? any ideas or suggestions?
Kewl! thanks for the info. I dont think that my dad has replaced the distributer. I know that he has replaced the fuel pump in addition to the fuel filter. thanks again, I'll have my dad look into that!
Dash is blank with no power, here is the hitch, I pulled and replaced the PCM module and the truck fired up without hesitation. I can live with having to do that for a while but it is unnerving to have the truck shut down with 0 notice. Throatle body was just cleaned, and all starter/battery connections cleaned and protected. Brand new PCM relay. What does this module do to reset for start up?
