Nope, no need to remove eithe rupper or lower plenums. You will have to take enough of the screws out though to pry them apart a little ways as well as removing the heater core cover right behind the glove box. Take the dash pad off and glove box out to give you the room to access the screws.
Nice to know the dash comes off THAT easy. I didn't know it was that easy to take the dash off. Now, on the other hand, I'm also glad you don't have to take the dash off to remove the heater core, as I've replaced these before. Now my truck needs one. Has a slight leak, but barely fogs the windows up. And I hate smelling it when I turn defrost on.
But, I need to replace my parking brake light, and the right half of my gauges don't show up at night. I dunno if this is normal or not, but I like to see the oil pressure gauge, even if it is an idiot gauge.
You really won't believe how easy the heater core is till you do one. 30 minutes- yeah it is that easy. Everything else you mentioned is pretty simple too.
Ok- got the parts (both of our broncs need this door). Less than $75 total for both at the local stealership. I just came in to reread the thread to make sure I remember everything as I go. I'll see what I can do for pics.
I have brought back this tread to see if anyone could shed some more light on this issue. I am having this same issue, figured it might be the same problem. So did it fix the problem or not?? Anyone else have the same symptoms and this fix there problem? Wonder if the part is still available?
that web site is halarious. I did have to kind of rig it but you cant see it atleast. It does work like a charm and didnt cost me nothing but some time and 2 ties.I should have took some pics I guess. I could not find the part so something had to give. And as crappy built as the part is I suspect it will last longer than the original design. Scott
