Unhappy truck constantly pulls to one side

I have had my tuck now with 700 miles on it in the shop 3 times for alignment issues. They finally managed to get the steering wheeel straight but the truck pulls to the right and will change lanes in less then 4 seconds when you take your hands off the wheel on flat road. I have basically been told that is just how it is. is any one having similar problems.?

Yes and no....my 08 (1300miles) does that to a small extent, but it is not all the time....
i am trying to figure if it is the truck or a mixture b/t my mind and the road conditions???

Also keep in mind that most perfectly flat roads actually have a slight crown to them to shed water. Pulling to the right might just be a reflection of the slope in the pavement.

This issue is most likely a tire problem. Bring the rear tires to the front and the front tires to the rear. You can also just do one side at a time if you want. Most likely it is the right front tire giving you the problem, but if changing the right side doesn't correct the problem, try changing the left side also. Or if the spare is the same size you might try changing with that one.

Hope this helps with your problem.

Swap the front tires to opposite sides. If it pulls in other direction it's a tire problem.

I have 24000 kms/15000 miles and my 6.4L PSD truck and it tracks true on the highway. If the truck pulls to the right, the first thing I would check would be the wheel alignment and the second thing I would do is to switch tires. I have had this happen even in my 1999 7.3 PSD.

I second the tire problem. One truck I drove did this, the mechanic called it a "radial pull." He identified the offending tire on the front axle and moved it to the rear axle which cured the pull.

It is most likely caused by the front tire in the direction of the pull. Move that tire to the rear and the pull will vanish.

If this is the problem the tire can't be placed on the front axle. I traded my truck in before I had to deal with that issue.

it can also be a shifting rear axle. look at the u-bolts and look at the riser blocks for evidence of the axle shifting. a move of 1/4 inche will make a bad pull. ask me how i know.

Also, after drive for distance on the highway feel each front wheel to see if one is hotter than the other. I had a pull on mine and it ended up being a dragging caliper. It was time for new brakes anyways so I put new rotors, pads, and lubed the slide pins and all is well.

The signature on the original post states "2008". If in fact it is for that particular truck I would be back to the dealership for a warranty job. I would NOT ACCEPT "that is how it is" because it's not. A new truck should hold true to the road on flat pavement.
