Success is due to you guys. I was in Cabellos south of Austin and they had both the Couple Buddy for $39 and the telescoping rods with ***** and magnets for $29. I looked at the telescoping rods at Harbor Freight on sale at $10 and they looked exactly like the others so I bought and used them the first time today. I set one on the ball and the other on the tongue, used the windshield mirror until the one on the ball was knocked off and it worked PERFECTLY the first try. I put them in the gun rack for protection because I like them...
I know...I see two advantages over the "wings" other than price. You do not have to mount the bracket to receive the wings thus the ***** can be used anywhere on any vehicle. In addition, the instructions suggest you telescope one of the ***** to even with hitch ball height then carefully use it to adjust trailer height if what you are driving is not the last thing that was hooked up to the trailer.
The wing things work but get in the way.
I saw a system simular. there is a "V" that mounts under the coupler or ball. The other end has a straight pin hanging down.
I saw it in one of ther boating magazines, trailer boat or something I can't remember.
If i was looking into one i would have to consider this one very hard.
For what it is worth I crank down the tongue of my boat trailer after i unhook. When I back in the next time I go till it touches. I get out and crank up the trailer and 1/2 the time I can wiggle it on. The other half all I have to do is back up a little.
