What is the largest amount of horse power, and torque, you've ever seen come out of a 300" I-6?
I don't care, if it had a nitrous system, or if you saw it in some really tricked out car. If you could please list which mods they put on it, I'd be very grateful! I just need to know, how much I can get, if I dump alot of money into my little truck. (I just want to be able to beat those 454's off the line!)
There's a Maverick locally that runs 12.20s at the strip with a 300. The car is gutted, probably weighs about 2600. The engine looks like an ad for Clifford. I'd guess he's pulling between 300 and 350 rear wheel HP.
I watched a man pull mid 9's at Milan Dragway(Mich). He had an altered "T" with a 300,
it had a wierd head. he said that the head was a prototype based on the cleveland 4v. It was carberated (side-draft)but he has also ran injection. About two years ago I built a 300 with an 87 split exhaust and the long EFI intake, I milled out the top of the plenum, cut off and capped the flange for the throttle body and welded an aluminum plate on the top that I milled to accept the carb plate that I machined out of 5/8 inch alum. plate for a holley 4bbl and installed brass plugs where the original injectors went(good place for nitrous).
The combination didn't idle but when throttled it had huge amounts of torque. This combo won't fit under the hood of an F-series. I sold the truck before I got a chance to really mess with it.
No, I'm from S.E.Oklahoma but, I lived in Detroit, Michigan. That's where the car I told you about is and it raced all over Michigan, Ohio, Indiana. He's got a lot of wins for a 6 Banger.
