this is true but they susposedly fixed those problems when they came out with the newer generation of duramax in 2004.

TYLAN, let me guess his truck starts allright when it is cold but whenn it is hot it wont or has trouble starting. probably also gets a little less fuel milage than usual. this is what has happened to several of my customers trucks that have had injector problems.

when your friend takes his truck to the dealer tell him to try to work directly with the tech that works on his truck if possible. a friend of mine was able to do this and found out that he actually had a couple of injectors bad and GM was only going to let them change those injectors. long story short he argued with them and got all 8 injectors replaced even though all of them werent bad yet.

sorry about the misspelling, bad injectors will leak. when they leak on it leaks into the oil. this generally happens by injectors just dripping fuel into the cylinder instead of spraying a mist and the unburnt fuel which cant escape seeps down through the rings into the crankcase.

They gave him an 04 duracrack for the time bein.

Said he drove to work and back took half a tank.

Stoped at work and fuel was draining out of the rear main.

One of his injectors stuck open.

168k on stock injectors. They replaced all 8.
