Question about the 7" mitre-cut stacks I got for X-mas.
Should I run 'em down to the roof line, or let them extend over the roof line, and if so, how high is too high.
My current stacks are 6" and bent like you've never seen. They have two bends in order to clear my chicken wing and to keep the horses from being smoked-out.
I'm not hauling much more than my boat or race car anymore.
I'm also considering maybe just running one like my shop truck.
I also have the 7" Mitres and am in the process of installing them. I initially, and still, only wanted them to be flush with the top of the cab, nothing higher for both personal looks as well as clearance issues. There are a few parking garages I just fit in and want to still fit.
That said, I cut the hole in the bed so that the 5'' bed pipe is laying against the bedliner and the stacks are seated all fully into the end couplers. This has put the stacks about 1.5-2'' above the cab, and I am stuck with that now. I have a peice of diamond plate laid on top of the plastic bedliner where the bed pipe rests, so I could probably get them an inch lower if I cut the bedliner out below the bed pipe. Mine are not bolted down yet, so I still may do that. I have to see how it looks.
Id leave .5" - 1" just above the roofline, that way you can juuuuust see them from the front, they dont protrude too high, and you catch a little shine off them in the front..... But I dont own stacks, just criticize people that have them, and make them look goofy IMO. Ive seen some I like, and some I dont, but its all a matter of oppinion
The way Pete has his in my opinion looks the best just alittle above the cab not too much but enough that you can see them coming at you. Nice job on the cover Pete never see anybody do that with stacks looks good.
Edit: I painted my pipe in the bed with black BBQ paint to match the spray in liner looks real good one day I am going to take picture of it to put in the gallery.

LOL thats what i did. you open the tailgate and see nothing
Alright, I think I've decided on one lone stack, just offset a little from the tail/cargo light (to the right). I'll keep the 'y' in case I decide to go with both. I know how a single stack looks on a black truck, not sure how it'll fly on a beige truck.
