Cat or Muffler

If I were going to delete just one or the other for now which would give me the best MPG/HP increase. Seem's I've heard deleteing the cat buys about 1 mpg and a couple HP.

Why not both? If I was going to keep the factory pipes, both would be gone. But to answer your question, the cat would go.

Check out these electric cutouts. I still plan to delete the cat and then maybe install these electric cutouts in front of the muffler to bypass it when I want to.

Why not bypass it all the time, with a striaght pipe? My truck never had a cat, but I cut my muffler out the day after I got it, it was hardly any louder with it gone if that's the concern, the only time it gets loud if you really hit the gas.
