i would d the old cheapy test. find a gravel patch and floor the brakes. if the abs is working, the brakes wll pulsate. if it isnt wrking, the wheels will just lock up and slide. but thats me, i always try the easy cheap way first before running all over the place like a chicken with its head cut off.
How does that fix his ABS light? Even if the road test checks out good, you are setting yourself up for future heartache by not getting that light figured out and fixed.
I stopped and bought a rear sensor, but had to go on a 120 mile trip before I had a chance to change it out.
On the way I started to get loping and grinding noises in the front drivers side wheel.
Took it easy until I could get to a dry spot to check. Jacked up the Front and looked at everything. Had some decent slop in the wheel. Turned out to be a bearing was going out and didnt have many miles left. Somehow this triggered the ABS lights.
I ended up changing out both hub assemblys/bearings and the lights went away. Rig has 195k so im not surprised the bearings finally wore out.
