dp tunes

Ok. I am getting ready to order a DPtuner so I can play like the rest of you.

Th truck sees duty as an empty daily driver, and I tow a 7000lb car hauler and occasionally an 14,000 lb car hauler. I am based out of Western PA but I do make it out west ever couple of years.

So here is what I am thinking.

No Start
Stock
40 Tow
60 Tow
80 Econo
Idle 1100

Maybe

Modified Stock ( since I have a modded tranny however not planning on big oil or injectors)

80 Tow

100 Performace ( just to play?)

I kinda wish he had some more descriptions as to the differences in the tunes and what to expect and what other mods needed.

What is the differenc in the tow tunes for over 4000' elevation?

In a past e-mail to them they suggested 40 tow ( 14000lb) 60 tow (7000lb) 80 econo.

Where or how has everyone been mounting the F-5 switch? How big is the unit? Is the swither mount needed?

You can see me mods below. I am not planing on any other except for:

A turbo wastegate controller
Maybe a larger intercooler (down the road)
I'll probably get into the fuel system at some point
No injector upgrade at this point and no plans (unless the money tree blooms well)..LOL

Just let me know what you guys think.

I wish I had a pic, mine isn't attached to anything. It is right next to the steering colum on the left side. They are not very big 1"x2" very light, so it looks like it is mounted but really the cord is holding it in place where it comes through between the steering colum and the dash panel.

That sounds like it can be mounted with a little velcro.

Here is where mine is, just cut a hole in the dash to just barely fit the wire through then used a 1/2" square piece of velcro, never moves, easy to see and reach and looks decent IMO.

I think I have the idea about the switch.

Any comments on the tunes I listed. Do they seem to be fitting what I describe what the truck is intended to do?

Should I get the 80 Tow also?

this is how i did mine

This is where I mounted my F5 switch. It looks clean with no wires showing. I removed my dash drilled a hole just big enough to fit the F5 connector through and Epoxy the switch to the dash.

Rick,

If you are not going to tow heavy loads all the time you might do away with the 40 tow and get the 140 smoke for fun. I tow in 80 econo if not very heavy.

Just a thought, good luck.
