Cummins installation
has anyone performed a cummins swap on a super duty.
i have a 99 V10 and the engine has seen better days, it suddenly began knocking on the bottom end, the way i see it i have to replace the engine and i would like to consider installing a cummings diesel. i know it is not going to be easy, and the way i see it i am not selling out because cumins is in no way DODGE, i usually get a kick out of dodge owners arguing that fact with me especially when they have to replace hubs in front wheels at only mere 25000 miles in some cases. anyhow, i'd liek to know about how much difference between swapping a V10 and converting to a Cummings.

Cummins is a great engine, wish it was available (from the factory) in something other than a Dodge. We have a Cummins 5.9 in our 88' GMC suburban. It was driving that for the past 6 years that had me wanting another diesel when we bought the 08' F250. No for-sale postings - moderator krewat

Cummins in an Excursion?
This question should also be posted in the Excursion forum. I will do that. Since most of the info is here...does anyone know of this?
The links provided for the Cummins conversion are great! I don't see any references to a CUMMINS-EXCURSION conversion. I think this would be possible? Do anyone know if it has ever been done?

The engine compartment in an Excursion and Superduty are exactly the same. If the swap can be done in a Superduty it can be done in an Excursion.

Thats not the guy i was talkin bout. That guy just swapped a cummins in. The guy i was talkin bout swapped in the cummins, and the 05 front and rear diffs, includin the monobeam suspension. But i think that guys name was 7.3x
