Carb icing

Recently, I installed a 300-6 in an 86 F250. I removed the EGR and put a plate and gasket over the end of the EGR/carb spacer. Also removed the 1" metal tube between the exhaust manifold and EGR/carb spacer. The motor runs great. Question: to prevent icing of the carb this coming winter, which do I need to replace: 1)the 1" metal tube (exhaust to EGR/carb spacer) or 2)the flexible hose that runs from a shroud in front of the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner or 3)do I need both? Thanks for any input. PS: the motor is essentially a 78-79 set up with a 1 bbl carb.

Carb icing

The heat stove from the exhaust to the air intake Id say is the best idea . If its working as it should then icing shouldnt be a problem .
