black exhaust

my 86 f150 just started producing black exhaust. just changed the plugs, wires, ignition module, pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, yet this has not helped. the plugs immediately are encrusted in black carbon deposits after only a few minutes of the engine being started. can't even drive the truck because it stalls as soon as i give it gas. please help.

You have a rich fuel mixture condition . What engine is in your truck ? Is it carberated or Efi ?

the engine is the 300, with the tfi-iv electronic ignition system. it has a 1-barrel carb.

Check that the choke is operating properly . Have you made any adjustments to the carb ?

no, i have not made any adjustments to the carb...I thought that none could be made...the emmissions label on the engine compartment states that the carb has no mixture adjustments that can be made. it is a one barrel carb, are there adjustments that can be made?
