They spent a bunch of time using the old winch. That truck broke a bunch of parts and always had.
Here ( in So. Ca, when that build was popular) we have seen that truck broken on more than one occasion. I can recall an extraction when they first put the Michelins on. They buried that thing in mud past the doors (both doors) and burned up the brand new winch.
While fairly impressive in the rock gardens, (mostly because they were not affraid to damage it) that heavy truck sank like a rock in the mud.
I wonder what ever happened to it?
most of their breakage problems could have been solved if they'd have used rockwells and heavier shafts, but there's something about that truck that's just plain awesome. as I recall they got like 21mpg with it too
