how about putting the name of what you are talking about???
like the title says, how about not using abbreviations??
i see this alot here, and in the superduty forums.
i know i am not the only one that has absolutely no idea what you all are talking about with your abbreviations.
here are some examples.
hpop, ebov, idm, ae, cck, romp romp, cct, cps, ccv,
i have asked several ford people , and the answer i get is the same. that it is code for something, but they have no idea what the code is either.

HPOP= High Pressure Oil Pump(common termanology it's what its called, sorry)
EBPV= Valve behind turbo, opens and closes when cold to warm up vehicle faster, (common termanology it's what is called, sorry)
IDM= ignition control module, controls the injectors (it's what ford calls it)
CPS= Crank position sensor (it's a ford thing again) Could be cam not sure on this one.
CCV= Crank Case Vent, often referred to in as a mod to vent crank case gas in to the atomosphere (its the name of the mod)
CCK= Is a line the goes arcoss the the top of the engine to balance the injectors(its the name of the mod)
ROMP, ROMP= push the throttle all the way down let of and do it again.
WOT= Wide open throttle
VSS= Vehicle Speed Sensor, almost forgot this one, this is the one that causes your speedometer to go crazy, its on the differential counts the number of turns for speed and ABS uses, sorry theres another one
ABS= anti lock brake system ( very common term used by all manufactures)
RSC= roll stability control (ford thing, for explorers, to keep them from rolling)
PSD= Powerstroke diesel
LS= limited slip
GPR= Glow plug relay
SRW= single rear wheel
DRW= dual rear wheel
sig= signature
J/K= Just kidding
LOL=laugh out loud
IMO= in my opinion
IMHO= in my humble opinion
S/C, SC= Super cab, extended cab
C/C, CC= Crew Cab
BTS= Brians Truck Shop
VB= Valve body
Auto= automatic transmission
Man= Manual transmission
4x4, 4wd= 4 wheel drive
4x2, 2wd= 2 wheel drive
lo= Low
hi= High
SB= Short box
LB= Long box
dr= door, or doctor depending on how it is used in the sentance
ULSD= Ultra Low Sulfer Diesel
DK= Diesel Kleen
WW= Wicked Wheel
TC, tc= torque converter
3V= 3 valve
Some one else will have to chime in on the rest or fix what I have so far. The reason we use abrevations is it is easier than writing it out, and most people, not everyone knows what they are, but if you spend enough time here you eventually will figure them out, it took me a while too. Hey and you use abrivations in your signature, like crown vic meaning crown victoria, h/t=hard top? you should really spell it out if you don't want everyone else to use them, J/K about the last part. Hope this helps, that list is not complete or hasn't been updated in a while.

I've not had it happen to me) push the throttle all the way down let of and do it again.

Tom, this to clarify some on Max's list;
EBPV- exhaust back pressure valve, he told you where it is and what it does
CCK- cackle cure kit, a mod of several manufacturers that helps with oil pressure balance between the two heads to help quiet the injectors
Romp Romp- what your truck does when first starts and it's cold outside, usually associated with thick oil
Hope this helps a little.
I also have to agree with Max that abbreviations are intimidating to people who are not familiar with them, somewhere there is someone cussing you out for using them in your car descriptions who has no clue what the -ell you are talking about. When I see a new one I always scratch my head wondering what they mean but eventually it comes to me, it is explained or I just ask and somebody on here is always willing to help.
Have a great Christmas.
