223 Rebuild?
hey all,
I've got a 61 F100 Unibody with a 223 in it and I'm thinking about having it rebuilt. Can anyone let me know if it's worth it and approximately what I should expect it to cost? The engine has 254,000 on it and it's blowing alot of smoke out the vent tube. Thanks in advance.

223 Rebuild?
Well, Jasper, not sure if any of the experts are gonna answer ya or not, but I own a '64 LWB with a 223 AND a '61 Uni with a 223 as well. A while back I went to Oklahoma to see a '62 Uni for sale, and the guy there was restoring it back to original. I asked him what he paid for the rebuild on his 223 and he did not have his receipts in front of him, but he figured he spent $600 (give or take) but he did some of the work himself. He had no problems in getting parts for rebuilding.
