No where in my post did I tell him to go ahead and tow it. I was very general because I do not know what the capacities are for a F250 with a 5.4 with his configuration, only he will know by reading his sticker like I mentioned.
F250 vs F350 is only relative to the weight put on the rear axle of the truck. I have seem some f350's having less of a TOWING capacity because of the configuration of the truck (ie F350 long bed, crew cab, auto, 7.3 vs a F250 short bed, standard cab, manual v10). That is why you can not judge it by F250 or F350, you MUST go by the actual truck and door sticker.
My opinion does not matter, only comon sense on his part matters. If he is with the capacities that are determined by Ford, and the equipment is up to par, than he can decide if the load is safe.
