I had to replace the VCG's on mine last year. IH pissed me off enough, I went to ford to get them. $50 apiece. 2 stroke man, have you changed these before on the OBS? Theres a trick to easily get the passenger side VC off.

VC- easy! one key to the passenger side is to remove the foil off the A/C box and there is a small vacuum reservior screwed to the side of the box. remove that and the VC will come out (this was told by TJ). You have to upper first the back part of the cover (IIRC this was told by 1997F-350).

Thumbs up

I really don't know why you would have to remove the foil to remove the VC.
I have had mine off so many times I can just about whistle and they jump too

I found it to be the easest, after all the bolts have been removed to lift the cover, roll the top towards you while dropping the front and raising the rear and viola. it's out, plus....foil is still there.

I know that there is going to be some "Doubty Outys" (Like that? I just made that up) but it works. Try it.

TJ mentioned something about a 2 piece VC but I think he was just yanking on my chain.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Roger
