same load, same truck with the same springs. this load was a piece of cake for my straight six. the powerstroke in the background of the second pic laughs at my f-150's hauling capacity.

Just picked up some more wood today. Buddy had like 5 trees taken down. He got a 89 GMC 2500 with king bed. Well we backed up both our trucks, and loaded the wood around mine, then loaded the wood around him. When we left for my place we were drivin down his street and i noticed alot of smoke. Well I kept drivin as his truck does blow some blue smoke as most Chevys do with 190K on the clock. Well I get a call, hes like I blew something in my trans. I back up to him and have headlights pointing at truck. All I see its blood (ATF) running like a river down the side of the road. Take a flashlight and look he had blown a rusty line. Well, we decided that wed put the wood from his truck into mine, as my truck wasnt full. So I go to back up to the tailgate and you see a big trail of ATF from his yard to the truck like 100 yards or so. He was like oh snap it goes right to my house. So i was like my Ford stabbed ur Chevy and its bleedin all over. I wish I had my camera to take a pic. But he is some pics of the wood.

haha awesome pics 95F350XL and awesome story. your truck is so badass. that chevy didnt stand a chance with all that green wood. your truck seems to handle it really well. is that the same chevy you pulled out of the mud? what are you doing with all that wood? splitting it by hand? is that ash that you have?

Na that Chevy is my buddies truck. He got it all fixed now. Just a super rusy trans line blew out. I think its ash, its from his house. The tree guys came back today to finish up and I think I have a few more loads to pick up. Yes I do split it by hand. But with the load I have I think ill have to rent a splitter. I got to see if my old neighbor still has his. My truck does handle the weight very well. I still got a pritty good sag out of her. Thank got its and F350 or that hit would have been dragging on the road. Here is his truck. I like it myself. Its just redneck.

Here is all the wood right now. I think a power splitter is in my future.

Handles it extremely well if you ask me!! Were the overload springs contacting? What do you ballpark the weight is in it?

Yea the overload springs were contacting. I couldnt guess the weight, maybe a 1500lbs or more. I had 2 ton of crushed stone one, and Id say it was close to that. There are a few times when I sit in my truck and the hood is pointing up instead of down, from the weight. The truck has a nice stock raked look.

your f350 is awesome. my f150 would have been dragging on the ground with that load. if you need anyone to take that wood off your hands, im only a state over lol. if you get a splitter, i recommend one with a honda engine. they're really great. we've been splitting 6 seasons strong now with the honda after the briggs and scrap'em lasted only 2 seasons.

Ill prob just rent one for a day. I use a wood burning stove to heat my house so I usually take all the wood I can get. I could have used you to take wood on a job I did with my uncle 2 years ago. We had to clear out a forest in some dudes back yard. We had so much wood. Thats y I love my F350. Bring on the weight.

oh i gotcha. we do the same thing. my f150 is for light hauling, my f250 will be for medium duty hauling and my dads f-superduty powerstroke is for the heavy stuff. 2 tons of stone though i think i would leave to the f-superduty. your truck really can handle a lot of weight. and i think your "fender flares" are one of the best ideas i've read about. good thinking.
