Engine Vibration

Hello,
I've got what I think is an engine vibration. ('05 6.0 diesel) At first I could feel it when I had my foot on the brake idling at a stop. It came and went for a while, then, now, its pretty much there all the time, and getting worse, to the point that you can feel it through out the whole truck. I've had it to our Ford dealer a couple of times for that and they cannot find anything wrong. I still got 70 K and 2 years to go on the engine warranty, but I don't want to be in the middle of BFE Michigan when it decides to break down. If anyone has any info on something similar, please let me know.

How is the truck running, does it feel like it is missing or lack of power. Is it more pronounced when under acceleration. Do you feel it when cruising along at 70 mph and at 30 mph. Do you have any after market products on the truck like an exhaust.
When sitting at an idle is the engine missing or do you just feel a vibration on the body of the truck.

vibration

It seems to run okay. Just took it 6 hours north into michigan and it ran fine. I only notice the vibration at idle, and when it first started doing it shortly after it was new, it only did it every-once-in-a-while, and now it seems to do it all the time. (Wouldn't have anything to do with the ABS, would it)?
No after market add-ons yet.
As for lacking power, its always lagged on take off, like from a traffic light...if I mash the pedal down pretty good, it hesitates then takes off. (I always just thought it was turbo lag).

The only thing I can think of right now that could cause the vibration is the down pipe coming from the turbo is rubbing somewhere. There has been some talk in the forum on that very subject. The lag on acceleration is normal from a dead stop it is turbo lag.

You only notice the engine miss at idle? How does it act after an oil change, what oil do you use and what fuel additive do you use? When was the last time you drained the water separator?

Maximum 4x4,
Engine does not seem to miss at all. After oil change I really hadn't paid much attention to that aspect. As far as the oil, I just use Motorcraft, 15/40, no fuel additives...only what comes from the pump. The water separator...well this is my first diesel, and I don't know diddly about that. I have yet to change my oil myself, I've been letting my dealer rob me for that, but thats going to change here soon when its due for the next oil change.
Thanx,
dano

3000FPS,
I'll check the pipe from the turbo, thanks. However, we got some snow yesterday (bout 6-8")and today I was coming to a stop sign, ABS Light on in all its glory. I was just getting ready to put my foot on the brake when the ABS light goes out. Went to stop, the ABS kicked in for about 3 seconds, brake pedal seems to get nice and stiff, but as soon as the ABS light comes on, I no longer have anti-lock brakes, of course, but I did notice that the brake pedal got really mushy and the vibration increased. When I got home, just for fun I pushed kinda hard on the brake pedal and could darn near push it to the floor! So , I don't know whats going on there, is it possible the anti-lock is making the vibration? The vibration is different from when the anti-lock is working when it is activated.
thanx for any information,
dano

My '05 F250 had a vibration at idle, but would disappear under acceleration. It turned out to be the downpipe had worked just loose enough to allow a little touching of the cab or farther back. Yours sounds like something different. I found mine by holding my foot against the end of the tailpipe and working back from there towards the engine.

Good luck

I'll check that, because that sounds like what mine does, disappear when I accelerate.
Thanx,
