Anybody out there have any issues with the stock rear leaf springs on 2005 F250? Seems that any time I go over a bump in the road the top helper leaf hits that rubber snubber on an "L" type bracket thats mounted to the frame. I just went out to look at it and the rear end of the leaf is about and inch from the snubber, and you can see where its been hitting on the leaf.
Its annoying as all get-out to hear that constanly banging away for every little bump in the road. I've had it to my local ford dealer and they say thats just the way it is...a-holes.
Part two, I've got what I think is an engine vibration. ('05 6.0 diesel) At first I could feel it when I had my foot on the brake idling at a stop. It came and went for a while, then, now, its pretty much there all the time, and getting worse, to the point that you can feel it through out the whole truck. I've had it to our Ford dealer a couple of times for that and they cannot find anything wrong. I still got 70 K and 2 years to go on the engine warranty, but I don't want to be in the middle of BFE Michigan when it decides to break down. If anyone has any info on something similar, please let me know.
On your first issue...I would suspect the shocks. Not sure if you have the regular OEM or FX4 Rancho, but that is a place to look.
Now...on my '03 SD V10...my auxiliary springs hit that frame mount in the rear all the time too. But mine is due to axle wrap if I accelerate quickly...and NOT necessarily for hitting bumps.
Sorry cannot offer any help on the 6.0L PSD issue, but I am sure some other folks will chime in soon.
Thanks, biz,
Yeah, I thought of shocks too, but they seem to be okay. I got regular ole ford shocks, what ever was standard when I got truck. Hope someday soon to replace them with some Ranchos or ProComps.

If you dont' haul heavy loads very often you could remove the auxilliary spring landing pad brackets so the springs don't hit them when you are going over bumps.
For your running problems, post your issue down in the 6.0L forum. There are some factory techs, and a lot of guys that know their stuff.
