92 4.9 Headache
My 92 is giving me a headache .Check engine light comes on and off . Everytime i put my snap-on computer on it i get a new code. Ive replaced the 02 sensor, thermostat sensor, egr sensor and now the TPS sensor . Light came on after driving it 4 mile . Any suggestions or comments??The truck does ideal a little rough and poor fuel economy. Truck just got complete tune up also.

Are you following the Pinpoint Tests after you retrieve the codes ? Are you retrieving the codes with a completely warm engine ? My advice is to start with the basics & work your way along as the diagnostic continues . A simple thing like an intake leak or a dead fuel pressure regulator will cause codes to be present , but merely changing the affected sensor will not cure the problem .

I've been having the same problem with my '93 for about a year now. I've tried pinpointing what causes it by road conditions (i.e. uphill load, hard accelleration, etc.) to no avail. It is really inconsistent and only stays on for about 5-10 seconds. Anyone finds a possible solution let me know.

Traildawg i have yet to figure mine out .im hoping it will just quit and then maybe i can find the problem . Ive check voltages, vaccum leaks , just about eveything i can think of .I just wonder if the cat converter is trying to stop up throwing all of these different codes.
