It`s hard to say what the gauge is from only the small partial view of it, it appears to be a volt/amp meter and I don`t believe it`s a stock item.
''Never Been Tampered'' is incorrect as it`s had a colour change, though very nicely done, from red (under hood) to off white.
Very few are ever totally stock after 52 years.
You can't believe EVERYTHING you read...
"All original, the way it came out of the factory. Hasn’t been modified in any way."
If this is the case then it's the first 54 F100 I ever saw come out of the factory with a 55 grille and a 54 valence!
And here I missed the obvious...
Still it`s fairly nice and from the looks of these pictures it appears to be better than most I`ve found around here.
After a closer inspection of the photo's I agree with CharlieLed. The pickup has been resprayed, its original colour was red, there's a shot inside the cab where the mat is lifted and you can see the original red floor and the Flywall is red also and a gold 55 grille, that is very original. But still it is in very good condition.
Did any of these old trucks come with the starter sel. on the firewall like in the engine pic? I think the statement "original, unmolested" is a little bit of an overstatement but only those of us who have these trucks would notice several of these descrepencies. Someone will buy it....sometime, for some price and then more than likely change it all up anyway.
I always look at these sales with expectations for the worst, an open mind and an empty wallet!

On Dec-23-07 at 23:01:22 PST, seller added the following information:
Deep Apologies to all! This truck is a 1955!!
We are completely sorry for the mistake and identity!!!!
This Fabulous Ford F-100 is actually a 1955 Ford F-100 and Not a 1954. We deeply apologize for the confusion and wish everyone the happiest of holidays!!!
Just happened to see this today and it is almost $4000.00 this morning.
It just goes to show that there's a buyer for virtually anything on ebay. At $3,938 that truck is already at a price that's more than double what you can buy one for here in SoCal. Too many bidders are buying what they read instead of what is really there. Snow tires, Earl Schieb fleet white paint job, hubcaps from ???, and an engine that shows little sign of having been maintained. This seller must know very little about early F100s, he has already changed his listing because some people have been pinging him about the grille and hood...if you look a little closer you'll see that the grille has been installed over a 54 valence and parking lights (look at the poor fit to the headlight buckets). I'd bet that this is a modified 54 and not a 55. Not that it matters in the long run but it does say a lot about the seller.
You are quite correct there CharlieLed, people will react on mislead information. The truck again has been molested, you can see the overspray of white paint on the hood front locking panel. Even the vin number is wrong F10DK5K25359. Never mind,
Why is the block green and the head orange? Gotta love those station wagon tires!
Really, it's an awful clean truck (assuming there's no major bondo). If I'd paid that much and got a truck in this condition, I'd be money ahead of where I am now.

He changed it, it`s hard to say what year this truck really is.
I also noticed he was very careful not to show in any great detail pictures of any places where rust is usually found such as the bottom of the cab corners, under the running boards and inside the cab floor, etc.
It`s probably one of the nicer ones but there still could be a few nasty surprises.
Well, to answer the question about the solenoid. On '55's, they are on the firewall. As to the hood trim, '55 only. The fropnt end has likely been in an incident, and thus the crappy repaint, and the incorrect valance. Typo on the vin, but it says '55, so the guy has fat fingers. Oh well. If it runs and drives, and some one is interested enough, it'll get really high. Reserve is likely around $5K. Looking at the market, probably a fair price, and he probably did some basic research as to what to ask. The rear lights kinda tell you it aint a '54. The '54 only came with round lights, never the shields. Those didn't start til '55. I would at least give the guy an A for effort, and remember, not everyone has the knowledge and experience that most of us have. We were all new to the trucks at one time, and most of us couldn't tell a 53 from a 60 at some point. Still a clean starter truck.
About the valence: it is a '55 lower valence. The 2 small holes which some think is for the 2 vertical pieces on a '54 grille are for the Ford Grille guard. The holes for the '54 grille are much bigger and front further.
As was said earlier, we know a lot more than most people, and we are still in the learning process.
