auto trans with auto hubs, shift on the fly **** on the dash(man I miss that stick on the floor) everything worked fine a week ago. went to use 4x4 to get into work and nothing happened. no clunk no grinding no ping, just a stuck truck. Fuses are all good. connections on the actuator motor(on the transfer case)are good, switch is good(tested it on a buddies truck) vacuum is good( i can hear the hubs lock in). No indicator light and no transfer case engagement. Any help would be great.
Fuses are good, not sure where(if any) the relay would be. They moved every relay and fuse into the cab under the dash. Tried engaging it while in motion and sitting still, nothing happened. If anybody knows what wires/pins should have voltage that would be a great help
The only thing I can see that refers to your 4wd sys is maxi fuse #111. It is a 30amp fuse in you fuse panel. You could switch it #112 which is for you left hand power seats and see if that does it. If not you need to check and see if you have power at the actuator, if so the motor is probably bad.
Try pulling the motor off and cycling the switch. Movement? Yes... Transfer case is probably busted. No Movement?... Voltage at the motor? Yes...Replace the motor. No voltage at the motor? You got some wires to chase. I had the same problem with an explorer recently and it really kicked my a$$. I thought it would be a simple problem to troublshoot, but ended up changing the transfer case. I hear the motors fail quite a bit. Good luck
The only other thing I see is fuse #19 which is labeled for the 4x4 module. I don't know it that could do it or not. Check for power at the actuator motor. If none, start tracing wires back, You need to check for power at the switch as well, switch may just be bad. I doubt the transfer case is bad.
