I do have factory A/C that works....

some of the wires could be for some of the missing emissions

hey Dennis ....do you know of a fusable link or something between the fuse block and the NSS the white/pink wire....

Everything I have is hooked up correctly except there is no voltage on the white-pink wire....
it works fine when put voltage with that set of wires...the backup light comes on in reverse like it shouls

Merry Christmas

Check the fuse

You guys need to tremember that all this NSS switch does is allows power to run through it depending on what position it is in.
That's all it does.

It closes the circuit.

In Park and neutral... it allows the start circuit to be closed

In Reverse.... it allows power to run to the back for the BU lights

To bypass switch ....You have to get power to the LIGHT side of the switch to test for illumination.

remember guys when you put the neutral safty switch on you have to have the transmission in neutral and use a #43 drill bit to line up the switch then tighten down the bolts and take the bit out.

Is that self-tapper a dealer option?

Sorry just felt the need to say something.

It won't be if you have a 1978/79. On these yrs, the NSS is mounted on the transmission.

The NSS pictured in post #24 is for 1967/77 F100/350's = steering column mounted. (C7TZ-7A247-A ~ Motorcraft SW-600)

Bill , I referenced the Pre 78 NSS because of what he said in post #11.

I interpreted it like he had a substitued NSS by a P/O.

His 79 color coded wiring is wrong by his comments.

Pehaps a later year harness on it ?

I looked on the back of the fuse panel....no white/pink wire.....
there is a white/ purple.....

nothing is cut or looks like its missing.....

Is there another place that the wire should/could be hooked up for the 12V even though all ford diagrams show nothing from fuse panel to NSS for the white/pink wire...

Just my 2 cents but istead of killng yourself tryinh to run that wire down. Why don't u run what is called a homerun wire from the switch on your tranny to the reverse lights socket and if need be run pwr to the switch. That way u can circumvent all the problems of that real old wiring Good luck chasing wire is a pisser on our trks when theres been a lot of PO"S
