engine idle and dash noise

I am hoping someone here can help, again, here's the newest problem:When i turn the key in my ignition I get a buzzing noise, the same type of noise you hear on family feud when they get the answer wrong, and also the engine does not idle up like it used to.Once started it would idle at say 600 rpm and then after a few minutes idle higher,it no longer idles higher.Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The truck is a 99 F350 SD 7.3 ,built in early 98,150,000 mi,no mods but regular maintenance done religiously.OH replaced glow plug relay in july new batteries and alt last september and had batteries tested 2 weeks ago and were fine,if that helps. Thanks again in advance

The engine will bump up the idle because the engines dont like to idle for long periods of time(something having to do with the oil). How loud is the buzzing? That noise might just be the glow plugs kickin in. I was told that they can do somtimes.

its pretty loud, and my concern is that the idle used to bump up but now it doesnt, just stopped doing it the last couple of days ,i dont if they are related the noise has been going for a ew weeks and the idle just started ,I am worried it is a sign of something about to go and dont want to be at the mercy of a dealership

Could your vaccum pump be making the noise?

The Idle up that you refer to is the EBPV activating and placing a slight load on the engine to speed the warm up process. this activation is controlled by the PCM with a few parameters. all the parameters are monitored by different sensors, including but not limited to, oil temp, air temp, baro, driver input(throttle or brake) coolant temp,etc...

Is the underdash noise a buzzing, or a rapid clicking(like when you turn the flashers on)

With the location that you have given as your residence, I have to say that road salt is getting into the wiring and corroding it. That will cause a lot of high resistance everywhere. That makes electronics very unhappy.
I would begin by unplugging every plug, everywhere on the truck and make sure there is not corrosion. Not even a hint of that white powder-looking stuff.

Usually when it get's corroded like that you have to replace everything. The corrosion goes several feet up inside the insulation and turns the conductive wiring black. Basically ruins the whole wiring harness.
Big money to fix it correctly and IMO it just about totals the car without ever getting in an accident.
Here out west, no salt, and 20 year old vehicles with nice bright shiny copper wiring.
If you do find that sort of damage, I wouldn't bother with it, but rather trade it in on a new truck. If the wiring is that bad the rest of the truck will be right behind it. Steel brake lines, suspension hardware, etc.
Kind of a "get out of it while you can get some good money" situation.

True, but since you have disabled the valve there is no "load" being placed on the engine.
