My 2003 Excursion dropped the alt. and both batteries. I replaced both batteries and alt. checked good. 2 days later they were out again. Any hints on what it is?
Godzzila
Not uncommon to pickup a new alt and have it turn out to be bad. Try to always by a new one form ford or autozone. It is important to have the parts store test it on the bench before you walk out the door. Regardless if it is a new one or rebuilt. I am betting that you got a bad replacement. Just take it back in and have them test it on the bench. If everything tests good start thinking elsewheres. Have you added anything new that is elctronic? Something may be causing your batts to draw dowm when ignition is shut off. Let us know what you find out.
Also, welcome to FTE. Stick around and you will be a master shade tree mechanic in no time.
OK, ummmm, theres no easy way to say it, i guess i'll just go for the punch....
You're gonna need some 530 hybrid injectors, 200 amp alternator, 6" exhaust, and dual cold air intakes, twin turbos, and hopefully the only other thing is a programmer.

Yep, that'd do it, except then he would be asking about why his truck went through tires so fast.
Also check your GPR(glow plug relay) . and all fuses.
Also, check the electro fuseable discombobulator, and make sure the contacts are clean, and that the battery pump is running. You should here a faint "hummmm".
