Wiper Motor?
I've just started blowing fuses in my '89 F450 Super Duty 7.3 diesel. I've narrowed it down to the wiper motor. I actually removed the motor and had it tested at a local automotive electrical shop and they said it was bad. I went and got a new motor and when I went to plug it in to test it, before mounting it, it started running...even though I hadn't replaced the bad fuse, yet, or even turned on the key! What's up with this? Why would the motor start functioning before even putting in the new fuse? I'm not very accomplished at further electrical troubleshooting, so I thought I'd see what someone can offer me here.
I tried the new motor after putting in a new fuse and the same reslts occurred.
Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions.
Regards,
Barry

You should have power on the red any time the key is in run. The white wire is low speed, and you should have power on this wire only when the switch and the interval box calls for the motor to run.
The red has power any time the key is in run to park the wipers after you turn the switch off.
