LT headers on 96' F350 4x4 crew
Fully realizing there is mod work to be done to make them fit, I am close to purchasing a set of headers.
PM'ing a couple guys, what are brands that some have found not to be in the way of the tranny pan?
A user with a 95' had Flowtechs, but they are too close to the pan.
Another user with a 94' I believe he said he has Hedman's and they fit good.
What have some used and results on the bigger trucks?
My one thought is to use shorties and forget about the problems of fitment, but I want the maximum gains I can get.
So it sounds like LT's are the way......
Thanks for any input.

You are not going to be able to put longtubes on and have the Y pipe come across in front of the tranny.. just in case that is what you are planning. No matter what brand you get the pipes will have to come back behind the tranny and then cross over to the passenger side, and there should not be any truck modifications necessary to get that plumbing in there.

Thanks Paul.
After looking at some pics of your custom Y pipe, I figured mine would have to go to the back of the tranny.
One of the users I talked to said one side of his longtubes is real tight on the tranny pan.
What you mean by no truck mods necessary to get the LT's in?
I figured other than removal of AIR injection, and plumbing in a EGR, not too much too it. And custom Y I'll have to build.

I see the other thread about a guy with the Flowtechs and one side hits his tranny pan.. that's strange but not impossible I suppose. I wonder of he got the wrong ones by mistake or something.
Anyway.. what I meant about "no truck mod necessary" was.. you don't have to cut the frame or crossmembers or anything like that. Yes, you'll have to deal with the air injection and EGR...and the HD trucks have a real ugly air injection system, but you can route the plumbing to clear everything else, and there is plenty of room for full 2.5" tubing.

Im the one with the problem. I was doing research on the model headers and its not for 95 5.8 4x4. Summitracing.com is wrong when you put your year and engine and stuff. Here is what Flowtech says they will fit. 80-95 F150,F250,F350 351W 2wd, 80-88 F150,F250,F350 351w 4x4, and 80-95 Bronco 351W 4x4. Isnt the drivetrain in the Bronco 351W the same as my F350? I just have the Solid front and leafs vs the ind with coils.

R you guys breaking any bolts while installing them? I know im gonna have a hell of a time putting my headers on. Even thinking about taking the inner fenders out, or better yet! i have to replace my lower intake manifold anyways so il take the heads off as well. Then installing the headers already attached to the heads. Ive done it to a couple hemi's.

Passanger side is the one that I had the least trouble with. I have to find a set that doesnt hit on the drivers side. Its driving me crazy. I dont want to have to take the header out every time I need to do trans service. I could get a flush but every other flush I change filter. If I could get 2 torches that worked, I could heat all 4 tubes and bend them away from the pan. Damn it. Truck is starting to get on my nerve lately.
