Does anyone know the correct color for the inside rear view mirror on a 66 F100? It looks kind of gray, but itis pretty badly faded. The sunvisors were gray and look to be a similar color.
I've seen them three colors; don't know the proper color; but I say its close to the color called Silver smoke gray. I seen white as standard color; chrome, and this Sliver Smoke gray. I would paint it white; if you can't figure out the shade of gray you want' or the best bet is to put in a aftermarket chrome one.
Hope this helps.
Some what of a related question . What is the correct color of painted parking light frames on a ' 51 or '52 F-1 . Are they argent silver or the creame / ivory color like the grill ? Thanks FTE members
Paint it the same color as your interior metal. keeping it uniform gives it a good look.
I thought about doing just that, however I have not yet made up my mind. Should it be White or should be the Sand color? I am open to opinions look at my gallery to see the colors and let me know what you think.

I think either color would work well for you but I'd lean towards the sand color. It's not a big piece so I'm sure if your not happy with the sand you'll go white. But which ever you decide, you got a cool looking project there.
Thanks for the compliment and the input. I will be posting more pics in my gallery soon. Tomorrow it will be coming out of the garage under it's own power for the first time in about four years. The bed is just about ready to go to paint.

Cream...Silver (Argent) wasn't used till much later.
1961/66 inside rear view mirrors: Most of what I've seen were a non reflective gray, but chrome mirrors (C3AZ-17700-A [NOT B]) were used on Custom Cabs, and two adjustable chrome day-night mirrors were an option.
Day/night mirrors: There are two different types...both were used during the same time frame (C3AZ-17700-D **** type / C2AZ-17700-B toggle type). One had a **** that could be swiveled to flip the mirror up/down, the other had a black plastic knurled toggle switch at the bottom of the mirror. Both mirrors are marked on the backside with the FoMoCo script and are the same ones used on most 1960-66 Ford's including 1965/66 Mustangs, so they're not that hard to find.
These are not the same mirrors that glue to the windshield, these mirrors thread on. Glue-ons were first used on 1961/66 T-Birds. Most Fords had black plastic day/night mirrors glued on in 1967.
btw: The "plain jane" chrome inside mirrors used on Custom Cabs are the same as 1960/66: Galaxies, Fairlanes, Falcons; 1965/66 Mustangs.

I purchased a mirror for my 64 that included a map light after modifying original mirror bracket I ran the wire through the bracket and to the switch. I'm no purist I like being a little different. If I can use original brackets and hole areas I will but I just like being different. I have a good picture of the mirror in my gallery. tell me what you think.
I have yet to see one of the optional day nights in a stock truck.Garbz
That's because the day/night mirrors were only listed in the Accessory Brochure, and prolly only 20% of the buyers ever received/asked for one a those brochures.
I always thought they were supposed to be the non reflective gray/silver, similar to the visor clips and shafts...kinda gives a nice lil accent to the area up there
