Friend just got a new MH with a V10 and auto. Should he run the auto with the tow/haul on or off. He runs with it off and I told him to run with it in the Tow/Haul mode. Which is right?
What kind/size/year MH does your friend have? Does he have a boat or auto in tow?
Usually...your friend can run with the Tow/Haul off on the flats (as long as nothing in tow)...but when hitting the grades...would recommend using the Tow/Haul feature. Will help the tranny from over heating...and hunting for the right gears.
If it doesn't hunt for gears with the tow/haul off it won't hurt anything to leave the tow/haul off. It also won't hurt anything to run with tow/haul on. It comes down to which way he likes the way it performs.
I think I would run with it on to stretch out the shift point and get the engine braking. I have to think a 37 Foot MH loaded up is pushing some weight.
I always use TH when I am towing so I have no idea on how much of a impact on MPG it might have though?
