Just curious as to whether or not it is possible to bolt up an NP435 to a 460 Ford big block. If so, what applications do I need to look for to acquire a bellhousing?
yes, I am bolting up a 435 to a 400 right now and recognized the part numbers to applications. A 400 and a 460 bell housing is the same. If you find a bell housing I would junk yard it. ALL of the yards we went to had them already pulled off. I also know the fly wheel is the same for a 351m/400 and a 460. I dont know about the clutch. Dont know what your going from motor and tranny.
the 351m/400 flywheel won't work on a 460 crank. i used a 360/390 flywheel as well as 360/390 clutch for my conversion. just use a quality clutch kit. i also had a pilot bearing machined to fit deeper into the crank for proper fitment.
well sorry but in LMC the flywheel part number were the same for the 351m 400 and the 460. But I was a little curious because when I held the clutch up to the flywheel it was only about 1/4" away from the bolts on the outside. And that was with a 12" clutch.
