np 435 trouble
I got a problem with my tranny too. When I took it out the splines on the input shaft were twisted so I hunted around and found a new one. I got it in the other day and put it in the trans. After that I fought the trans. for two nights trying to get it in. I finally took it back out tonight and found out the end of the new shaft is about 3/4" longer than the old one. Everything else on the shaft is identical and the shaft is new not used. Anybody got any ideas?

You mentioned that you bought this shaft new, so I'm guessing you told them all the year/make/model... If all that's true, then maybe your tranny was switched before you got the truck.
I heard that Dodge and other used the NP435 and they had different gears etc...
Either that or maybe the parts house screwed up.
