I am going to buy my first crewcab , but i have a few questions. How hard is it to find rear interior pieces? Were the 4x4 models D60 front? The guy I am buying it from says its a D60 front NP205 divorced and a 460 T18 combo he says is original(which i know for a fact a 460 with t18 combo was not offered until the 80's) my guess is it had a 360 with NP435.The bed is shot but the rest seems ok.Whats a decent price for this? he wants 700.00
my 74 is a 360, NP435, NP205 and it came originally with a closed knuckle 60. It now has a disk brake d44 high pinion that is coming out so another 60 can go in.
I beleive you can put disks on the closed knuckle rears, but I think most people replace them with open knuckle axles instead.
closed knuckles cannot be swapped to disks.. mose people drop them infavor of open knuckle d60 or d44.. they are popular in some moosebuggys though.. i dont know why drum brakes freeze stuck four wheeling in alaska in winter.

I just bought my project '75 crew 4x4 for $650 and wish mine looked as good as that one.But where there is WILL there is a Way!!!! I plan on adding an extended cab to the back of it- still gathering parts and waiting for warmer weather.
Looks like a good starting point project. Finding parts for the crews can be a hunt, but they are out there. Cost......I through that out a long time ago when I started my highboy project. I had a number in mind when I started, but seemed to be way off up to this point and I'm not even close yet to being done. I keep telling my wife.."It will be cheaper than a brand new Ford truck"
