finding a bellhousing

finding a bellhousing

i cannont seem to find a dang bellhousing for a 351m / 400 / 460.

if you know a website i can buy one, please help me out.

Try your local or nearest auto junk yard.
They will usually have one in stock.
Some junk yards will have a hot line that will call all junk yards.

1977/82 F100/350 / 1978/82 Bronco

351M/400

I see two different bellhousings in the parts catalogs.

The difference has to do with the clutch fork...which MUST match whatever bellhousing you get.

The early bellhousing (before# DG0,001) uses the same fork the FE engines do = D0TZ-7505-A.

AFTER serial #DG0,001 the forks are engine specific. 351M = D9TZ-7515-A / 400 = D9TZ-7515-B

1979/82 after serial # DG0,001 = D9TZ-7505-A > > replaced by > > E1TZ-7505-A

i ended up finding one in dodge city today since i was there. i called 6 yards and none had one.

I had to fish several out of the scrap pile at the junkyard that I frequent. He thinks they are junk, until somebody came to buy one, $125. I wish I woulda had just fished it out and gaven him a couple bucks for it, then SOLD it for that much.
