where to install a tach

I put a new tack in my truck i wired the light on it to my dash light fuse but it keeps blowing the fuse is ther anywhere i can wire it to without it causing an amp spike?

Adding the load of one small lamp that's in the tach should not overload the circuit, there is probably something else causing a short, perhaps in the tach itself?

Off topic, but I finally see why Mil1ion always points out having the correct topic in post. Before looking at this I searched for the link of everyone who posted pics of their tachs installed and how they were mounted to link for you and it has nothing to do with where to install the tach. Anyway...

I don't think the tach light should overload the circuit either.
