Well, out of frustration I've just emailed March Performance and Holley begging and pleading for them to develop an underdrive kit for our 4.9L's. I also gave them the URL for this forum and told them to come see the demand for this product for themselves, so lets show them how bad we want it.
hey traildawg i just did the same to march and cliffords. ithink we should try to get everyone involved on this one. if we all email the manufacturers everyday with the same request.....who knows?? maybe they will listen.or maybe they will block us from their email list. either way we have nothing now right? lol ....ltr.....paulieg69
Ok, now this is quallity customer service if I've ever seen it! I sent this email to March Performance about a week ago:
Have you looked into developing a kit for the 4.9L engine in Ford trucks? Some friends and I (about 50-75 of us at ford-trucks.com) have been looking high and low for and underdrive kit for our trucks, but no one offers one. We've even gone as far as to compare every Ford P/N from the 60's - the present in hopes of finding a shared application between the I6 and V-8's. So how about it......our torquey 4.9L's are in need!!!
Now here is the EXACT reply I just received back about my inquiry on a pulley kit for the 4.9L:
"Sorry, March cannot help."
No name, no reason, no "we'll look into it," NOTHING!!!
traildawg,i just got my reply from holley, and they said "thank you for your comments, i will forward this to our product manager". now i dont know how to take this email.1.they are actually going to give it a look. or 2.that was their nice way of saying "s.o.l." oh well lets keep the faith that something good will come of all our nagging.........ltr
i thought i was the only loser trying to make a hotrod out of an l6 but now i know i am not. i too want the pulley kit so dont give up until we get wat we want!!!!!
