Naa, don't worry about the fuel tank itself. I've got 3-4 sources on that tank at this point. I'm hopeful that the Green company's price will be about the same as the aftermarket ones. (I'd like to keep with the factory parts at this point) It's the retaining straps that no one carries for the middle tank. If Green's prices are about the same as the local sources? (within reason) Then I'll order the tank in from them.

Like I said in a different post regarding the fuel pump. It's like the "Red Headed Stepchild" that no one wants to claim.

But that's ok.. I've got all winter to figure the fuel pump out, and in the mean while? The electric pump will allow the truck to be moved in/out of the garage as needed.

I'll be spending probably Friday working on the ol' girl again, working on the starting circuit (it's got a bad contact to work out) And get this thing turned around so my rear end won't be against the garage door LOL. After that? Let the fun begin.

When you installed these pumps was the eccentric in the UP position (hardly any contact to pump arm) to allow easy bolt placement and installation ?

...I don't think so. Uh Huh...Dennis, mi amigo....just exactly where has he been matching the part number?

At an autoparts store!

So, I dis-agree (what else is new?) See the RED asterisk.
Yes Dennis, I read all the posts...but don't forget...the OP's been buying gypo* fuel pumps, and you know how autoparts stores work.

They'll list one pump for years, while during the same time frame Ford might list five.

So, the pumps the OP's been a buyin' might be C3AZ-9350-V's or B8A-9350-A's!!

Did'ja know that on the early FE pumps, they're the same as the pumps used on 292's & 312's?

Try puttin' one a those puppies on a 1974/76 = No Fit-O! The arm is wrong.

Why is the arm wrong?? > > Ford changed the fuel pump eccentrics in 1974.

Post #28 = New GEN-U-INE FORD PARTS, not some aftermarket guesswork.

*From the Big Dummy's Old Car Dictionary: gypo = noun = gyp-o / slang word coined by old timey Ford buffs* for parts that are not Genuine Ford.

*old timey Ford buffs = geezers like the Big Dummy that have been messin' with these old rolling piles of misery for over 40 years.
