The lower the truck the less air resistance on the underneath of the truck. The air dam is suppose to allow the truck to move air down and away. So direct air would flow along ground and not get caught up in any mechanical parts which would create resitance and also allow the air to flow outwads towards the tires and sides of truck. But for anyone with a lift of any kind or an F350 with offroad package it is useless as the air will still get caught up under the vehicle. I think it makes the truck look like it is sitting lower and if we all wanted to have a truck like that we could have bought a chevy or gmc. lol
How do I find manufacture date for my truck? I have short air dam so I know it is job 1 but would like exact date. New recall about seat lists manufacture dates and I would like to see if mine is affected.
The manufacture date for your truck is on the B pillar of the drivers door (white sticker next to the door latch) hope that helps. I too have an 08 CC Lariat (250) but I didn't catch the seat recall thing, can you tell me where you saw it?

There is a thread started over on the Super Duty forum. I just read it and we will get notified this month, if applicable. I just reread the post and it says 100,000 F-250 thru F-550, but DOES NOT list the years involved.

This fits what I was told and it makes sense to me.We have the off road package and I do not see how the aerodynamics can be improved with the larger air dam.
