i have a 2000 F250 Crew Cab 7.3L, im pretty sure my wheel bearing on the passenger side is bad and that is getting fixed this week, but i noticed my tires were out of alignment and i had them aligned, my truck ran smoothly after that but my tires still looked unaligned but started shaking again after 2 days and you can clearly see that my front passenger tire outerwall sticks out between 1/4" to 1/2" outside the fender and the front driver side tire outerwall sits inside the fender about 1/4" to 1/2" (the tires were like that before the alignment), the driver side tire looks like it leans in but the passenger tire looks like its straight , to me it kinda seem's like the whole front end has shifted to the right, but it ran smooth after the aligment with the tires staying like that... does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is or could be (if there is one)... has this happened to anyone else...
welcome to FTE that wheel bearing might be bad enough to make the tire stick out..doesnt take much play to make the outer edge of the tire to move that far...one bad part will mess up the whole front end....not to mention the front end alignment done with a bad bearing...who ever does the work should check the whole front end..then realign it..
i rode around with the spare tire on the front passenger side for a while before i got new tires... the old tires that came on it were 265/75/16 and the spare is a 235/85/16 (i think), do you think that since i rode around with a tire on the front right that was different then the other three that it coulda caused the problem... im running 285/75/16 tires now
im sure it didnt help it..lot a weight on the front of these trucks..all that wieght was shifted to the lower corner.. but if you didnt run it in 4X4 you didnt hurt any thing else..

Just changed my RF wheel bearing last week. LOL It was so bad if you had the brake applied while entering a left turn it would push the brake pedal back up when the wheel flopped.
i didnt run it in 4x4.... the vibration from the right front didnt really become a problem until after my truck was used to pull someone out of a mudhole and my truck almost got stuck and i had mud stuck on everything up front, and i used a pressure washer to clean it all off and since then it has vibrated and makes five or six fast thumping noises and then stops for a second and makes the thumping noise again and it does that repeatedly the entire time im driving over 50 and it is slightly louder then the humming of my tires... it stopped for a day or two after i got the tires aligned... and the tires still leaned in and outside the fenders... thats what has me confused that it ran smoothly with the tires like that after it was aligned
yeah i made sure there wasnt any mud stuck on the rims... after pulling my friend out i went to the car wash place and used the pressure washer there and cleaned all underneath, but i didnt get it all and on the ride home it shook the hell out of my truck to the point i thought my dash was going to come loose lol (if thats possible) and the next day i went back and cleaned it again and got everything that was left and it rode better then when i bought it and then about a week later the vibration and the thumping noise started, and my front right tire seemed to have moved outside the fender more
I have had problems with my tires, which are ProComp 615's AT, purchased at Four Wheel Parts, (I do not advise using either) twice had similar problems to yours and the very honest alignment guy in my neighborhood told me it was the tires and 90% of the time it is the tires that cause these conditions. Each time a tire was replaced. One time one of the fronts had morphed into an "oblong" shape according to the mechanic doing the work. I havethe same problem arising now, a third time, and really dread going back to that place again. Anyway, you might want to get the tires checked.
i took it back to the shop today and he drove it and said all he could really feel was that the steering box had some play which it does... and he looked at it when we got back to the shop and he noticed some mud in a few places i missed, so im going to take it back tomorow after work and he is going to pull both tires off and wire brush'em and clean everything on and around the brakes and the other parts around it and then realign it, and he told me that the reason the tires stuck out on one side but not on the other was because that was just the way it tracks and that most fords will slightly sit out on one side, and he wished he had another superduty there today to show me how the tires sat on that truck
