injection prob, EBPV Q

is lucas hard on my injectors? i am running 2 quarts lucas in with 12 quarts rotella. is this hard on my injectors? and, could it be causing my hard winter starts? i have to hold throttle a few seconds after start up to keep it from dying. could lucas be my culprit?


does revving up with my new ebpv brake engaged hurt my engine? it makes cool smoke!

your truck won't stay running because you're not getting oil pressure to all the injectors.

a lot of guys are going to recommend tons of different mods,
but it's would be easier and cheaper to change the oil again, and fill it with 5w40Rotella Synthetic w/o the Lucas.

If you're getting smoke, you have at least one bad glow plug. The EBPV has nothing to do with it.

no, im saying after warm up i like to rev it up with it flipped when im cruisin or something. it makes cool smoke. gp's are good. they aint been it it long. the prev. owner replaced them

Lucas has been found to cause oil aeration. Bad for HEUI trucks. I wouldn't use it any more. Do an oil change then see where your at. Did it start like this in the summer? Cold thick oil can cause a romp start no matter what unless you use a diesel rated 10W30 or a 5W40.

AS for your EBPV you need a pyrometer to know if your hurting anything. Also you could be creating enough backpressure to float a valve and casue piston contact so I would not do it until you have backpressure gauge and a pyrometer.

I Wouldnt Use Lucas In The Engine Oil It Tends To Get Real Thick In Colder Weather And Is Problbly To Thick This Time Of Year. Could Be Putting A Strain On Your Injectors.

will change oil this week. for now shes staying plugged up. 25* here

I got a BP gauge and I can't even try to get it near 40. That is where the real engine brakes open. So all in all I don't think you need to worry about BP but EGT's may be the problem. I would only close the valve for idling or braking. I tried to rev mine and the uppipes leaked bad but mine are bad but I don't tinkk it is good idea to push it.

thats what i figured=) i came around the church parking lot today after church and had it engaged. i was only cranking bout 1100r's and everyone said it sounded like a dang jet when i got out and went back inside to let her warm up.

hey...on the lucas...i could put in even more and then have an excuse for a set of injectors and 17* hpop? think my evil plan might work? i can get 100hp to the ground injectors for a grand, and a new hpop from IH for $320. all i need to do is sell afew cows lol
