Im looking to buy a wheel and tire combo this weekend and im looking for opinions. I got a quote at a tire shop today for 285/70/17 and 17x8 american racing wheels. What do you guys think of this size on my truck? I have about 5 inches of total lift.
Also, does anyone have this size wheel setup with pics?
I got the tires and wheels installed today. Sadly the tire shop ordered the wrong rear center caps. Should have em on by Tuesday. Other than that im pleased with them. Check out my gallery for some pics.
Something isnt right here guys. Tonight in a parking lot I noticed the passenger side tire hits the back end of the leaf spring when turning right. On left hand turns the drivers does NOT hit the leaf. How can this be? In the morning when the snow clears I can take a closer look/measurements.
I'm back at my shop now. After measuring its seems my front axle isn't square. Measuring from hub to hub the passenger side is 1" further back than the drivers side. The front reverse shackle bracket is in the spot on both sides though. So I don't know how this can be.
Ok some info. The axle is straight, I made an error measuring. To find the backspacing I put a straight edge across the back of the rim and measure form there to where the rim bolts to the hub? If this is right my new ones are four and three Quakers and my old ones are four even.
