Help with front axle pivot bracket
. One of the bolts at the top of the crossmember pulled the bolt hole out. I've bought a new bracket from Ford and new CP bushings. What is the easiest way to get the top two bolts into the bracket. These are the ones under the oilpan. Help pls. I'm hoping I can just take off the oil filter and get my big grubby mit and bolts in that way.

If I remember right them bolts go in pointed up and the nuts have a small bracket that tie them together and keep them from turning while the bolts are tightened.
Hard to tell much ya about how to go about it as we don't really know what you have to work with. As with anything being repaired there is the "easiest" way to do it and then several other ways to do it depending on what a guy's got to work with!
If the metal is all stretched out where the bolt pulled through you need to straighten it back out first.
Can you post some pictures of the damage?
What caused the problem to start with? do you know?
No I did not get the bolts for the top. The parts guy said they only came in packages of 12 @ $20.00. So I was planning on going to Ace or someplace like that with the bolt and nut I still have left. I did buy the pair that go in the side of the bracket. They are like lug nuts as they tighten up they bite into the crossmember and does have a small bracket holding them together.
I don't know what caused the problem in the first place. I've had the truck for almost a year. Needs alot of TLC. I found this by trying to figure out why tire was wearing so fast on inside all of a sudden.
The stretched out part is on the bracket, figured easier to buy new bracket. $40.00 through dealer.
Thanks
Kevin

A junk yard would be a good place to get the "stock" ones cheap if you fine you just can't get bolts from the hardware store to work. IE. can't hold the nuts from turning or some other issue like that.
Be sure to use grade 8 bolts and nuts to fix it with, they are marked for grade. Don't let the kid at the hardware store give you grade 5 or even 2 and claim they are grade 8. Some of the "national" known hardware store chains do not carry grade 8 bolts, only up to grade 5. But most of the people on the floor will tell you they are simply because they don't know the difference.
Edit, grade 8 bolts have 6 hash marks or a small "8" on the head or both.
Grade 5 have 3 hash marks on the head, grade 2 bolts are unmarked.
