Can you be more specific? What do you mean by pop? Is this happening in 2wd or 4wd? Does it affect the operation of the truck? Give us as many details as possible.
well i had the same thing happen in my truck in 4wd. i then replaced the auto hubs with warn manual hubs and it fixed the problem. but like chris said, we need more info. IF it is in 4wd then i have COMPLETE pictures of installing manual hubs
Hey Travis how 'bout making a manual hubs swap article for our Sticky Thread?
The general consensus about these older non-vac lock style auto hubs is that they are pretty worthless, for the exact reason that you created this thread: they're unpredictable... When driving the truck you have no way to know whether they are actually LOCKED or UNLOCKED...
I swapped mine for Warn Manuals and I'm never lookin' back

haha good idea never thought about making a sticky thread for it.
I didn't meant a whole sticky thread just for the hubs... We're in the process of creating a sticky thread full of useful articles and info that gets asked often on this forum (hub swaps being one of those things). Right now we've got a thread open, under my name, that is looking for links and suggestions for info to be put in the sticky thread later. After the current thread has ample articles we'll compile them into 1 post on a separate thread, which will hopefully get stickied. See here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ggestions.html
