I guess my eyes need to be rechecked, because every time I looked at this chart, I could have sworn that I saw it saying at 2000 rpm the 6.4 liter had 350 hp, but now I see that I was wrong. I cannot find the Dodge information at this time, but will look again in the near future.

Obviously, you've had some problems. What kind....besides the poor gas mileage?

I don't think anybody can argue the sucess of the 5.9L, and now the 6.7. This design is tried and true, and even your most loyal International customers will aknowledge this fact. Get a clue homer.

The new international school buses that we got back in the summer had the new 6.4 and a lot of the particle filters on the exhaust were failing very quickly.

Lots of third party stories. All I know is my truck is doing very well except for the mileage. I am about to put it up for the winter because the cold air is starting to hurt my already poor mileage. January is a traditionally warm winter month but then February is the coldest and I would hate ot think how my diesel engine will react to temperatures around -30 to -50 degrees farenheit.

Put it up for the winter? That is win your truck should shine! Being one of the only who can drive down the road after a 10" snow. Pulling your snowmobiles to the cabin, going hunting in the sticks. being able to get to the back 40 to feed the cattle. Don't put it up!!!!!!!!!!

I find all the fuel mileage complaints and comparsions (to the 7.3, a motor thats been around in some form or another since the early 80's in the trucks, theres a lot of time to perfect that motor, whereas you're trying to compare a brand new motor to it, apples to oranges people). People want stupid amounts of power, a truck that can pull 20,000+lbs, an affordable price, and excellant mpg, all while been able to drive 80mph, face facts in order to tow heavy things you need a heavy truck to be able to handle the load safely, and people want the power to get that moving, well that takes a lot of fuel to do, and when trying to make a brick crap house go 80mph, well that takes fuel too, so learn to live with it, these things are going to suck diseal no matter how you put it, heck 15-18mpg is pretty good once you take ALL factors into consideration.

rant off, flame suit on.

I agree with most of what you say, but are we kidding ourselves with all this pulling power? Here is what you said:

"People want stupid amounts of power, a truck that can pull 20,000+lbs, an "

My dwl 2008, 6.4 PSD, long bed, 4x4, KR, auto is limited to 23,500 # GCWR, which I just found out is everything, truck, trailer, dog, load and me! What the hell do I need that much horsepower for. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can get the tow boss package for a GCWR of 26,000#.

15 to 18 man that would be nice try 11. My 7.3 would out run my 6.4 and it got 17
In this day and age you would think that they would go forward not back on fuel milage! And when I say 11. that is a SW SC 373 2008 6.4 empty. But not to sound to negitive it sure looks and rides nice!!
