Valve size clearance ???'s
How convient someone else is asking about a 410. Currently I have a 360 that is stock and once my 30'x48' shed is built I will finally start on my 74 Highboy. Anyway I have a set of 406 heads that I would like to put on the 410. I took my digital calipers and measured the stainless valves and got 2.148 intake and 1.782 exhaust valves. These heads were done by the guy I bought them from. Will these fit in a 360 bore or will I have to go to a 428 bore. 428 means new block. Let me know. Thanks

According to the Ford Muscle parts book the "stock" 406 heads will fit without any changes to block or head. Valve sizes stock are 2.09 " intake and 1.66" exhaust. It appears the guy put in over sized valves and from their diameters you gave the book say no fit without notching cylinder walls and to notch enough you will be into the water jackets on a 360. So unless you have a 428 or 427 he made a set of useless heads.

Bear I'm curious what 406 head #'s they list having those valve sizes? I've had both the C2SE-B and C 406 heads and they were both 2.02/1.66 stock. I thought the 2.09/1.66 valves didn't appear till the C3AE-G 427 heads. Sorry to stray off topic here....

Speaking of what are C3AE-H heads ? I cant get them as they are in a yard in a buy the whole thing or pass section... but I'm sure some T&A might just get the job done
