Still some work to do on it.. it's winter here now so I kinda stopped and am working on the house instead. The bed needs more work and I'm going to put a rollbar and roofrack etc. on it.
masterbeavis, if you think the racetrack trim for crews is ugly do you have any to get rid of? i need an excellent set for a short box (lower L & R sides) as well as the lower pieces between the doors. message me if you do. thanks
That trim is not mine. I finally found it, took pictures of it, and I think it is odd looking and ugly. I don't think I will be hunting for it anymore. If the rubber piece in the center was about 2" longer, or at least terminated 1/2" away from the screw, I probably would not think it was ugly. I would rather make my own at this point.

Just bought my '75 4x4 crew and started tearing her down.I have an extended cab that I will be adding to the 4dr cab to make my ultimate buddy hauling 4x4 for our hunting trips.A dream slooowly becoming a reality!
Here's my 1978 F250 4x4 - has about 4K miles on it since I restored and repowered it, and will never be that clean again is my fear! It is coated with road grime and anti-skid they pour on the roads here in Colorado, but I built it to drive, not to park it, so it's gonna get dirty.
It has a 1997 Cummins 6bt, 5spd, Dana 60's, seats from a 1999 F350, soundproofed, 2" body lift, 285/75R16 BFG's, boost/egt gauges, Line-X. I did all the work, paint included, except for the linex and head rebuild (though I put it back together with a new engine gasket kit). The bed is a 1975 F100, so the fuel door doesn't match the year. I've seen a low of 18mpg, and a high of 21mpg driving this empty, about 60% highway. Not towed with it yet, but will.
Keep fixing and keep driving these folks!

P.s. to get the picture, I had to load it to my gallery, then use the "forum codes" to get a link back over to this post.

I wanted to do a Cummins in mine, was going to settle for a 6.9, decided to leave the truck sitting on the side of the house until I could do it right.

do it right is what in your opinion? mines being driven everyday cummins or international.. that is doing it right in my book.. sitting isnt.
Heres my crewcab- starting to actual tear it apart and put it on newer 7.3 running gear. Been built almost 9 years and wanted to do that in the begining but it was 99 and couldnt afford to rip a new truck apart for it.

I won't be happy with a 6.9 (nor the FI 460/ZF I was going to put into it before I got the diesel bug). Either you can do it right once, or do it wrong twice. Either way the truck sits, I can't afford the fuel, and cant' justify it to drive back and forth to work, esp when your other car gets 50MPG.
